According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, there were 28.7 million foreign visitors to Japan in 2017, a remarkable 500 percent increase on the 4.76 million arrivals as recently as the year 2000. With the 2020 Summer Olympic Games and 2019 Rugby World Cup, Japan seems to be THE destination for many.

Idea

Fly with an airline that lives and breathes Japan

Working closely with ANA's European marketing agency, Socialgram would travel to Japan and create social content that tells the story of the real Japan. Off the beaten track, authentic stories that align ANA with their newly adopted tagline 'We Are Japan'.

Impact

5 days, 20 videos and CNN

Spending 5 days in Japan, the team were able to shoot footage across 3 cities, Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Along with creating 20 micro-videos for social content and our footage was used by CNN for their feature 'Great Big Stories'.
